Useless Emotions: Guilt And Worry

Unnecessary emotions: guilt and worry

Our life is riddled with guilt and worry, two emotions that don’t do us any good, but we value more than we need to.

We tend to feel guilty about many things we do or have done that no longer feel right to us.

At the same time, we worry about what we might be doing, but we don’t, out of fear or lack of will.

Do you really know what you are losing by giving these emotions so much importance?

We know this is something we cannot avoid, but being aware of what we are losing can help us take those emotions for what they are: unnecessary emotions.

Unnecessary emotions cripple you

Guilt and worry are crippling emotions, and they waste our time because we give them the attention they don’t deserve.

Guilt means that we do not take advantage of the present moments because we think about things that have already taken place and which have no solution.

Conversely, worry causes paralysis, because we think of a future which has not yet arrived but which worries us.

But why do we place so much importance on these two emotions? Since we are aware that they do not bring us anything, why do they take up so much space in our life?

All the people around us live around these two emotions. It is common to see people depressed and pessimistic, who only feel guilty and worry about things that they have done or that have not yet happened.

You may not be an exception. This is why it is necessary to identify these two emotions, to eliminate them and thus, to avoid their consequences.

Anguish is one of the manifestations of guilt and worry. In this way, you will feel dejected and obsessed with something that has happened or could happen.

Learn from the past, redirect your future

Once you have identified these emotions within you, are aware of how they make you feel, and know that they are of no use, now is the time to work them out.

We need to see guilt not as something that torments us but as an opportunity to learn from a mistake we have made. It will help us not to fall back into the same thing, to progress and move forward in life.

Believe that no one is immune from guilt. We all make mistakes at some point, but don’t think it’s negative!

Making mistakes makes us better, as long as we see them as an opportunity for personal development.

Regarding worry, obsessing over what may happen in the future is not doing us any good. When the time comes, we must act and what must happen will happen.

Thinking about what can happen ahead of time is pointless, because maybe when it does, you’ll be surprised at how things turn out. It can also be positive or negative. You surely have examples where things did not go as planned.

We must prepare to face our past and our future in different ways. No one says you can’t feel these emotions, but you have to learn from them.

We are emotional beings that we must learn to deal with in our favor. Even the most negative things can be learning opportunities.

Don’t shut yourself up, don’t worry about blaming yourself and worrying about things you can’t change. What has happened cannot change, and we do not know how what is to come will be until it happens.
